Original Tractor Cab Hard Top Cab Enclosure

New hard top cab enclosure that will fit the 2320 compact utility tractors. Installation timewill take roughly three to four hours. There will be no holes to drill, the cab mounts use existing holes.

***Cab Will NOT Fit 2017 and NEWER Tractors ***

Fully enclosed cab with an ABS plastic hard top. Clear shatter resistant Lexan plastic is used in the rear curtain, side doors and the windshield for maximum visibility. The Lexan windshield can easily be replaced with the optional safety glass windshield, which is available for purchase separately. Forward inclination of the windshield minimizes glare and contact with falling snow and rain. Doors are hinged with latches so getting in and out of the cab is easy and quick.

This hard top cab enclosure is not a genuine Deere item. It is manufactured by one of the leading aftermarket cab, canopy and sunshade manufacturers. It is made in the USA. It carries a one year warranty

John Deere 2520 & 2720 Compact Hardtop Cab 11746

Keep working when the weather turns cold, wet, or windy with Original Tractor Cab Hardtop Cab 11746. This aftermarket tractor cab fits the John Deere 2520 and 2720 Compact Utility Tractors. In addition, it fits the John Deere 2032R from model years 2013 through 2016.

Cab 11746 adds a full enclosure around the operator area. Therefore, it helps shield you from rain, snow, sleet, cold wind, and blowing weather. A molded ABS hardtop covers the cab, while clear panels help preserve the view around the tractor.

Installation normally takes about three to four hours. Better yet, the cab uses existing tractor holes, so normal installation does not require you to drill new holes in the tractor.

This cab is made in the USA by Original Tractor Cab Co., Inc. It is an aftermarket enclosure and is not a genuine John Deere OEM cab.

John Deere 2520 and 2720 Hardtop Cab Enclosure

A compact tractor can work all year. However, an open operator station can make winter jobs hard on the driver.

Cold wind can cut through heavy clothing. Snow and sleet can hit your face. Likewise, rain can soak an operator during a long job.

Original Tractor Cab 11746 adds a weather barrier around the seat. As a result, you can get more protection while using your John Deere 2520 or 2720 in poor weather.

Fits the John Deere 2520 Compact Utility Tractor

Cab 11746 is made to fit the John Deere 2520 Compact Utility Tractor. Its frame and mounting system follow the shape of the tractor and its operator area.

That model-fit design matters. Instead of trying to adapt a loose universal cab, you get an enclosure made around the listed tractor.

Still, inspect your machine before you order. Prior owner changes, added equipment, or non-standard parts may affect fit.

Fits the John Deere 2720 Compact Utility Tractor

The John Deere 2720 also fits Hardtop Cab 11746. It shares much of its basic tractor layout with the 2520, although its engine produces more power.

The enclosure surrounds the operator area while leaving the tractor's main working systems in place. Therefore, the tractor can still serve as a useful mowing, loader, snow, and property-care machine.

Always confirm that each control has free movement after installation.

Also Fits 2013-2016 John Deere 2032R Tractors

Original Tractor Cab also lists Cab 11746 for John Deere 2032R tractors from the 2013 through 2016 model years.

Model year is important for the 2032R application. Later 2032R tractors use a different design, so Cab 11746 should not be assumed to fit them.

If you own a 2032R, confirm the model year and tractor layout before you order.

Hard ABS Roof for Strong Overhead Weather Cover

Cab 11746 uses a molded ABS plastic hardtop. The solid roof gives the operator a firm barrier from weather that falls from above.

Rain hits the roof instead of the operator. Likewise, snow and sleet meet the hardtop before reaching the seat area.

The ABS roof also gives the cab a clean, finished look. Yet the enclosure stays focused on practical weather protection.

Useful Cover During Snow Removal

Snow work can place the operator in some of the worst winter weather. A front snowblower or blade can also put you outside when the wind is strong.

Cab 11746 surrounds the operator with a roof and clear enclosure panels. Therefore, it can help reduce direct exposure to blowing snow and cold air.

Weather can still enter through gaps in an aftermarket cab. So, dress for the temperature and conditions.

Protection From Rain and Sleet

Cold rain can make tractor work unpleasant very fast. Sleet can be even worse when wind drives it toward the operator.

The hardtop and enclosure panels help form a barrier around the seat. Consequently, Cab 11746 can make wet-weather work more comfortable.

Stop work when weather, lightning, ice, or poor visibility makes tractor use unsafe.

Clear Shatter-Resistant Lexan Panels

Good weather protection is only useful when the operator can still see the work area. For that reason, Cab 11746 uses clear shatter-resistant Lexan plastic in key areas of the enclosure.

The standard windshield uses clear Lexan. In addition, the rear curtain and side doors use clear Lexan material.

This gives the operator broad visibility while the enclosure helps block the weather.

Clear Front Windshield

The standard windshield gives you a clear view toward the front of the tractor. That matters when using a snowblower, blade, loader, or other front attachment.

Lexan is light and shatter resistant. However, it needs proper care to stay clear.

Use mild soap, clean water, and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and rough materials that may scratch the surface.

Clear Side Doors

Clear door panels help you see the area beside the tractor. This can be useful when working near buildings, trees, fences, or other objects.

The transparent design also helps preserve the open sight lines that compact tractor operators need. Still, always turn and check the full work area before moving.

Never rely on the cab panels as your only way to judge clearance.

Clear Rear Curtain

A clear rear curtain helps maintain a view behind the tractor. Therefore, the operator can better monitor rear attachments and nearby objects.

The rear panel also helps reduce wind, rain, and snow entering from behind the seat.

Keep the rear window clean before each job.

Forward-Sloped Windshield Helps With Rain and Snow

Cab 11746 uses a windshield that slopes forward. This design serves more than one purpose.

First, the angle helps reduce glare. In addition, the slope helps reduce direct contact with falling rain and snow.

A clear front view remains vital during winter work. Therefore, keep the windshield clean and free from heavy snow or ice.

Optional Safety-Glass Windshield

Owners who want a glass front windshield can upgrade Cab 11746 with Original Tractor Cab Safety Glass Windshield 10120.

The glass windshield is sold separately. It replaces the standard Lexan front windshield.

A safety-glass windshield is also required when using the compatible electric windshield wiper.

Optional Electric Windshield Wiper

Original Tractor Cab lists Electric Wiper 10122 as an available accessory for Cab 11746.

A powered wiper can help clear rain and wet snow from a compatible glass windshield. As a result, it can be a useful upgrade for owners who work often in poor weather.

Do not run a wiper on the standard Lexan windshield unless current Original Tractor Cab instructions specifically allow it.

Hinged Doors Make Entry and Exit Easy

A tractor cab needs to provide weather cover without making the machine hard to enter. Therefore, Cab 11746 uses hinged side doors.

The doors also use latches. So, they can stay in their proper position during normal tractor use.

Before each job, make sure both doors open, close, and latch as intended.

Easy Access to the Operator Station

The hinged design lets the operator open the cab and step into the tractor. Once seated, the door can be closed to restore weather coverage.

Always keep the entry area clear. Mud, snow, and ice can make tractor steps slippery.

Use the tractor's approved handholds when getting on or off the machine.

No Drilling During Normal Installation

Installing a cab should not require needless changes to the tractor. Cab 11746 uses existing holes on the compatible John Deere machines.

Therefore, normal installation does not require drilling new mounting holes. This also helps preserve the original tractor structure.

Follow the supplied installation manual closely. Never drill, weld, cut, or alter a factory ROPS to install the cab.

About Three to Four Hours for Installation

Original Tractor Cab lists a normal installation time of about three to four hours. Actual time can vary with tools, skill, and tractor condition.

A clean work area can make the job easier. Likewise, laying out the parts before you start can help prevent mistakes.

Do not rush the installation. Correct fit is more important than speed.

Cab 11746 Uses Model-Specific Mounting Parts

The 11746 installation kit uses dedicated front feet, rear brackets, rear posts, boxing posts, and ROPS brackets.

A top frame and braces form the upper structure. Then, the ABS roof and clear enclosure panels complete the cab.

Use every bracket and fastener in the location shown by the current instructions.

Cab 11746 Accessories

Original Tractor Cab offers accessories that can add more function to this hardtop enclosure. Available options include Safety Glass Windshield 10120 and Electric Wiper 10122.

Rear View Mirror 11133 is also listed for the cab. In addition, Flashing Amber Caution Light 9855 can add a visible warning light where suitable.

Check current accessory fit before purchase.

Rear-View Mirror Option

A rear-view mirror can help the operator check the area behind the tractor. However, it does not replace turning and looking before backing.

Always inspect the work area before you move. Also, keep people and animals away from the tractor.

Use a spotter when the job calls for one.

Flashing Amber Caution Light Option

A flashing amber light can help make the tractor more visible during certain jobs. This can be useful around a large property or work area.

Still, a warning light does not give the tractor right of way. Follow all local rules and safe operating practices.

Never assume another person can see you.

Year-Round Weather Protection for a Compact Tractor

The John Deere 2520 and 2720 can handle many jobs. As a result, owners often use these tractors through more than one season.

Cab 11746 helps make that year-round use more practical. Rain protection can help during spring and fall, while the enclosure becomes especially useful during winter.

The hardtop can also provide overhead shade during bright weather.

Rain Protection

The roof, windshield, doors, and rear curtain help reduce direct exposure to rain. Therefore, a sudden shower does not reach the operator as easily as it would on an open tractor.

However, Cab 11746 is not a sealed automotive cab. Water may enter around openings or gaps.

Wear clothing suited to the weather.

Snow Protection

A compact tractor can be a valuable snow machine. Yet open-station snow removal puts the operator directly in cold air and blowing snow.

Cab 11746 creates a barrier around the seat. Consequently, much of the blowing snow can stay outside the operator area.

This makes the enclosure especially useful with approved snow equipment.

Sleet Protection

Sleet can strike exposed skin and make winter work uncomfortable. The hardtop and clear enclosure panels help reduce that direct exposure.

Even so, icy weather can make the ground unsafe. Therefore, stop operation when traction or visibility becomes poor.

A cab cannot make unsafe ground conditions safe.

Wind Protection

Wind chill can turn a cold day into a much harsher work environment. Cab 11746 helps block much of the direct wind around the operator.

That can make a major difference during long winter jobs. Still, outside air can enter the enclosure through normal gaps.

Dress for the true outdoor temperature.

Use Cab 11746 Safely

This hardtop cab provides weather protection. It does not replace any John Deere safety system.

Keep the tractor ROPS in the position required by John Deere and the Original Tractor Cab instructions. Likewise, use the seat belt as the tractor manual directs.

Never alter a factory ROPS to make an aftermarket cab fit.

Cab 11746 Is Not Rollover Protection

The cab frame holds the roof and enclosure panels. It is not a certified Roll-Over Protective Structure.

Therefore, never treat the cab frame as a roll bar. Factory rollover protection must remain the primary rollover safety system.

Operate carefully on slopes and rough ground.

Cab 11746 Is Not Debris Protection

The enclosure is also not a certified debris or impact shield. A branch, rock, tool, or other object can damage the cab and injure the operator.

So, inspect the work area before you begin. Stay away from unstable trees and suspended loads.

Never depend on the roof for falling-object protection.

Check Your Finished Tractor Height

Cab 11746 adds height above the tractor. Therefore, low garage doors, sheds, tree limbs, and trailer roofs can become hazards.

Measure the full tractor after the cab is installed. Then, leave extra room whenever you pass under an object.

Do not rely on memory or a visual guess.

Care for Your Hardtop Cab

Regular care helps keep the cab clear and useful. First, remove loose dirt, salt, snow, and grass from the enclosure.

Next, clean the clear plastic with mild soap, plenty of water, and a soft clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough towels.

Inspect the frame and mounting hardware at the same time.

Protect the Lexan Windows

Lexan is shatter resistant, but its surface can scratch. Therefore, rinse loose dirt away before wiping the window.

Never scrape dry dirt across the clear material. Likewise, avoid strong solvents unless Original Tractor Cab approves them for the panel.

Careful cleaning helps preserve visibility.

John Deere 2520 and 2720 Compact Utility Tractor Specifications

The John Deere 2520 and 2720 belong to the 2000 Twenty Series of compact utility tractors. Both machines combine a three-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine with hydrostatic drive, four-wheel drive, power steering, and wet disc brakes.

They also share many basic dimensions and working systems. However, the 2720 offers more engine and PTO power.

Always use the exact model and serial number when buying parts or servicing the tractor.

John Deere 2520 Specifications

2520 Yanmar Diesel Engine

The John Deere 2520 uses a Yanmar 3TNV82A three-cylinder diesel engine. Engine displacement is about 81.2 cubic inches, or 1.33 liters.

Gross engine output is about 26.4 horsepower. Meanwhile, claimed PTO output is about 20.5 horsepower.

Rated engine speed is 2,600 rpm.

2520 Hydrostatic Transmission

The 2520 uses a hydrostatic transmission. John Deere's Twin Touch pedal design lets the operator control forward and reverse travel with foot pedals.

That setup can make loader, mowing, and property work simple. For example, frequent direction changes do not require a conventional gear shift each time.

Always stop and operate the range controls as the John Deere manual directs.

2520 Four-Wheel Drive and Steering

Four-wheel drive is part of the 2520's compact utility design. The tractor also uses hydrostatic power steering.

These features can help during loader work and on loose ground. However, four-wheel drive does not remove the risk of slipping or rollover.

Use extra care on snow, ice, mud, and slopes.

2520 Hydraulic System

The 2520 uses an open-center hydraulic system. Implement pump flow is about 5.0 gallons per minute.

Steering flow is about 5.5 gallons per minute. Therefore, total published flow is about 10.5 gallons per minute.

Hydraulic output supports approved implements and tractor functions.

2520 Three-Point Hitch

The John Deere 2520 uses a Category I rear three-point hitch. Published rear lift capacity is about 1,250 pounds at 24 inches behind the center link in John Deere's 2000 Series literature.

A three-point hitch allows the tractor to use many compatible rear implements. Still, implement weight and size must stay within Deere limits.

Never use Cab 11746 as an attachment support.

2520 PTO

The 2520 has an independent rear PTO rated at 540 rpm. A mid PTO is also available at 2,100 rpm in Deere's published specification.

This helps the tractor work with compatible mower and front or rear PTO equipment.

Keep all PTO shields in place during use.

2520 Fuel Capacity

Published fuel capacity for the John Deere 2520 is about 7.1 gallons, or 26.9 liters.

Always shut the engine off before refueling. Also, let hot components cool as needed.

Clean spilled fuel before restarting the tractor.

2520 Size and Weight

The John Deere 2520 has a wheelbase of about 65.2 inches. Published tractor weight is about 1,865 pounds before many common attachments.

A loader, mower, ballast, cab, or other equipment changes actual operating weight. Therefore, use the finished machine weight when transport limits matter.

Cab 11746 also increases overall height.

2520 Electrical System

The 2520 uses a 12-volt electrical system with a 500 CCA battery in published John Deere specifications.

John Deere literature lists a 40-amp alternator for the later 2520 specification. Electrical capacity matters when adding powered accessories.

Follow the accessory instructions before connecting lights or a wiper.

John Deere 2720 Specifications

2720 Yanmar Diesel Engine

The John Deere 2720 uses a Yanmar 3TNV88 three-cylinder diesel engine. Its displacement is about 97.6 cubic inches, or 1.6 liters.

Gross engine output is about 31.4 horsepower. Claimed PTO output is about 23.5 horsepower.

Rated engine speed is about 2,500 rpm.

More Power Than the 2520

The 2720 shares much of its basic tractor layout with the 2520. However, its larger diesel engine provides more gross and PTO horsepower.

That added power can matter with demanding PTO work. Still, implement choice must stay within John Deere limits.

More engine power does not increase every tractor rating.

2720 Hydrostatic Transmission

The 2720 uses hydrostatic drive. Twin Touch foot controls allow easy changes between forward and reverse travel.

This setup works well for jobs that require frequent speed changes. Therefore, loader and mowing work can feel natural and simple.

Use a safe travel speed for the job and ground conditions.

2720 Four-Wheel Drive

The John Deere 2720 uses four-wheel drive. It also has power steering and wet disc brakes.

Those features support the tractor's utility role. Yet traction still changes with tires, ballast, soil, snow, and ice.

Always operate within Deere's limits.

2720 Hydraulic System

The 2720 uses an open-center hydraulic system. Published implement pump flow is about 5.0 gallons per minute.

Steering flow is about 5.5 gallons per minute. Thus, total published hydraulic flow is about 10.5 gallons per minute.

Published system pressure is about 2,421 psi.

2720 Three-Point Hitch

The 2720 uses a Category I three-point hitch. Published lift capacity at 24 inches behind the hitch is about 1,250 pounds.

This gives the tractor access to a wide range of compatible compact implements. However, ballast and safe operating limits still apply.

Check the tractor manual before mounting heavy equipment.

2720 Rear and Mid PTO

A 540-rpm independent rear PTO supports compatible rear equipment. The tractor also uses a 2,100-rpm mid PTO.

That combination adds flexibility for mowing and other powered attachments. Still, PTO equipment can create serious hazards.

Shut the tractor down before servicing an attachment.

2720 Fuel Capacity

The John Deere 2720 holds about 7.1 gallons, or 26.9 liters, of diesel fuel. This is similar to the 2520.

Keep fuel clean and use the grade required by John Deere. Also, follow the tractor manual for cold-weather diesel operation.

Never refuel near an open flame.

2720 Dimensions and Weight

The 2720 has a wheelbase of about 65.2 inches. Published tractor weight is about 1,973 pounds before many attachments.

That weight changes when a loader, mower, ballast, cab, or implement is added. Therefore, confirm total weight before hauling the tractor.

Use a trailer and tow vehicle rated for the complete load.

2720 Electrical System

The 2720 uses a 12-volt battery rated at about 500 cold-cranking amps. Published alternator output is 40 amps.

That electrical system supports the tractor and approved electrical accessories. However, added loads must still remain within system limits.

Use correct wiring and fusing for every accessory.

John Deere 2520 vs. 2720

The two tractors share many features. Both use three-cylinder Yanmar diesel engines, hydrostatic drive, four-wheel drive, power steering, wet disc brakes, and a Category I hitch.

Both also have a 65.2-inch wheelbase and about 10.5 gallons per minute of total hydraulic flow. Therefore, their basic size and operating layout are quite similar.

The main engine difference is output. The 2520 is rated at about 26.4 gross horsepower, while the 2720 is rated at about 31.4 gross horsepower.

2520 Power

The 2520 provides about 20.5 claimed PTO horsepower. That output supports many compact tractor mowing and property-care jobs.

Its smaller 1.33-liter engine also keeps the tractor in a compact package. Therefore, the 2520 remains useful where size and maneuverability matter.

Match every attachment to Deere requirements.

2720 Power

The 2720 raises claimed PTO output to about 23.5 horsepower. Its 1.6-liter engine also produces more gross power than the 2520.

This can help with demanding PTO loads. However, the tractor still shares many chassis and hydraulic limits with the 2520.

Choose implements by published ratings, not engine power alone.

John Deere Attachments and Cab 11746

John Deere promoted the 2000 Twenty Series for use with many attachments. Depending on tractor setup, these machines can work with loaders, mower decks, snow equipment, tillers, and other approved tools.

Cab 11746 can make cold-weather attachment work more comfortable. However, the cab does not change attachment capacity or tractor ratings.

Always check clearance between the cab and every attachment.

Snowblower Use

A front snowblower can make the 2520 or 2720 a strong winter tool. Yet the operator can face blowing snow for long periods.

Cab 11746 helps create a protected operator area. Therefore, it can be a useful addition for owners who clear drives, lanes, and parking areas.

Keep the windshield clear before moving.

Loader Use

A front loader can handle soil, mulch, snow, and other approved materials. However, loader work changes tractor balance and rollover risk.

The cab does not change those physics. So, use proper ballast and keep the loader low during travel.

Never lift a load over a person.

Mower Use

The 2520 and 2720 can use compatible mower equipment. A cab can add overhead shade while mowing.

Still, mowing can throw debris. Cab 11746 is not a certified debris shield. Therefore, keep mower guards in place and clear the work area first.

Follow the John Deere mower instructions at all times.

John Deere Parts and Operator Information

These tractors have been in service for years. Therefore, exact model and serial data matter when you buy replacement parts.

John Deere still provides quick-reference information for the 2520 and 2720. That makes factory maintenance information easier to find.

For current parts information, visit the official John Deere parts website .

For factory reference information, use the official John Deere Compact Utility Tractor reference guides .

The History of Original Tractor Cab Company

Original Tractor Cab began in 1939. The story started with Indiana farmer Stanley Williams and a simple need for better tractor weather protection.

Stanley worked outside in the same rain, wind, snow, and cold faced by other farmers. So, he designed a cab for his own tractor.

That practical solution soon caught the attention of other farmers.

Stanley Williams Builds His First Tractor Cab

The first cab was made to solve a real farm problem. Stanley wanted more cover while operating his tractor in poor weather.

Other farmers saw the design and wanted similar protection. Therefore, Stanley realized that his idea could help more people.

One farm-built cab soon became the start of a business.

A Farm Magazine Ad Helps Launch the Company

Stanley placed a small advertisement in a farming magazine. The response was strong.

Farmers across the market shared the same need for operator weather protection. As a result, Stanley started a company to make cabs for major tractor brands of the time.

Original Tractor Cab traces its beginning to 1939.

Original Tractor Cab During World War II

World War II changed the company's work. Normal cab production stopped as the business turned its manufacturing skill toward the war effort.

Original Tractor Cab made backpacks and other canvas goods for military use. After the war, the company returned to products for tractors and outdoor equipment.

That shift became an important part of the company's history.

Robert Williams Expands the Business

The next generation brought new ideas. During the 1960s, Stanley's son Robert Williams designed and patented a cab for walk-behind snowblowers.

That product moved Original Tractor Cab into another outdoor equipment market. Soon after, the company also added cabs for lawn and garden tractors.

Thus, the business grew beyond traditional farm tractors.

Wayne Williams Adds Sunshades

The company's weather cab business had a strong seasonal pattern. Therefore, Stanley's grandson Wayne Williams looked for a product that could help operators during warm weather.

In the early 1990s, Wayne designed and patented a sunshade for tractors and lawn and garden equipment.

That product helped Original Tractor Cab serve equipment owners throughout more of the year.

Three Generations of the Williams Family

Original Tractor Cab grew through three generations of the Williams family. Each generation added products as tractors and outdoor equipment changed.

Stanley began with a farm tractor cab. Robert expanded the company into snowblower and lawn equipment cabs.

Later, Wayne helped build the company's sunshade business.

From One Cab to a Broad Weather Protection Line

Outdoor machines have changed greatly since 1939. Original Tractor Cab changed with them.

Today, the product range includes hardtop tractor cabs, soft enclosures, sunshades, mower products, snow equipment cabs, utility vehicle products, and cab accessories.

Yet the core idea remains simple: help protect the equipment operator from the elements.

Made in the USA Since 1939

Original Tractor Cab remains based in Arlington, Indiana. The company's roots reach back more than eight decades.

Cab 11746 carries that history into the John Deere compact tractor market. It takes the same basic need Stanley saw in 1939 and applies it to the 2520, 2720, and compatible early 2032R.

Rain, snow, sleet, and wind have not gone away. Therefore, practical operator weather protection still has a place on a working tractor.

Never cut, drill, weld, bend, remove, or weaken a factory ROPS or other safety component to make Cab 11746 fit. Stop installation if any cab part interferes with a control, operator exit, safety device, warning label, engine component, PTO, attachment, or required field of view.

The owner and operator must confirm correct fit before installation and use. Replacement seats, tires, ROPS parts, controls, owner modifications, dealer-installed equipment, loaders, mowers, snow equipment, and other attachments may affect compatibility or clearance.

Cab 11746 increases the tractor's overall height. Measure the completed tractor after installation. Then, allow safe clearance below garage doors, sheds, trailers, tree limbs, and other overhead objects.

The enclosure can reduce direct exposure to rain, snow, sleet, and wind. However, it is not airtight or watertight. Outside air, moisture, dust, and weather can enter through normal openings.

Never operate a gasoline, diesel, propane, or other combustion heater inside the cab unless the heater and tractor manufacturer specifically approve the complete installation and use. Carbon monoxide can cause serious injury or death.

Never work beneath a suspended load or rely on the cab roof for falling-object protection. Likewise, do not use the cab frame as a handhold, cargo rack, lifting point, towing point, tie-down point, or attachment mount.
