John Deere 4044M, 4052M & 4066M Hardtop Cab 40376

Keep working when rain, snow, sleet, wind, and cold move in. Original Tractor Cab 40376 gives John Deere 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M Compact Utility Tractor owners a model-fit hardtop weather enclosure.

The cab comes with an ABS plastic hardtop, clear side and rear panels, a safety glass windshield, and an electric windshield wiper. In addition, hinged doors make it easy to get in and out.

Cab 40376 mounts to existing tractor locations, so normal installation does not call for holes to be drilled. Therefore, owners can add useful weather cover while keeping the tractor ready for real work.

Best of all, Original Tractor Cab makes this cab in the USA.

John Deere 4044M 4052M 4066M Hardtop Cab for All-Season Work

A John Deere 4M tractor can work in many kinds of weather.

However, the operator still sits outside on an open-station tractor. Rain can soak clothing. Snow can blow toward the seat. Likewise, cold wind can make a long job much harder.

Cab 40376 helps reduce that direct exposure.

Model-Fit Cab for Three John Deere 4M Tractors

Original Tractor Cab designed product 40376 for the John Deere 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M.

That model-fit design gives these tractors a cab made around their operator station. As a result, owners do not have to adapt a loose universal enclosure to the machine.

Always confirm your exact tractor setup before ordering.

Fully Enclosed Hardtop Weather Cab

Cab 40376 surrounds much of the operator area.

A hard roof covers the top, while the windshield, doors, and rear enclosure help block direct weather from other directions. Therefore, the operator gets much more cover than the open tractor provides.

The cab remains an aftermarket weather enclosure rather than a sealed factory cab.

ABS Plastic Hardtop

The roof uses molded ABS plastic.

A hardtop gives the operator firm overhead cover from normal rain, snow, sleet, and sun. In addition, it gives Cab 40376 a clean shape that follows the tractor.

Keep heavy snow and debris off the roof.

Safety Glass Windshield Comes Standard

Cab 40376 includes a safety glass windshield.

That is an important feature for owners who work in wet winter weather. The glass gives the operator a clear forward viewing area and supports the included electric windshield wiper.

Keep the windshield clean before each job.

Electric Windshield Wiper Comes Standard

Rain and wet snow can quickly cover a windshield.

Therefore, Cab 40376 includes an electric windshield wiper as standard equipment. The wiper helps clear normal moisture from the glass while the operator works.

Clear heavy ice and snow by hand before use.

Clear Side Doors for Good Visibility

Clear shatter-resistant Lexan plastic is used in the side doors.

The large clear areas help the operator see beside the tractor. As a result, it is easier to watch attachments, nearby objects, and the work area.

Good visibility remains vital during every job.

Clear Rear Curtain

The rear enclosure also uses clear shatter-resistant Lexan plastic.

That helps preserve the operator's view behind the tractor. Therefore, the driver can check rear attachments and surrounding areas without losing as much visibility to an opaque enclosure.

Keep the rear viewing area clean.

Hinged Doors With Latches

Cab 40376 uses hinged doors.

Door latches help keep the enclosure closed during normal use. Meanwhile, the hinged design gives the operator quick access to the seat and controls.

Check each latch before work.

Designed Around the John Deere 4M Operator Station

Cab fit involves more than putting a roof over the seat.

The enclosure must work around tractor controls and normal operator access. Therefore, Original Tractor Cab designed product 40376 around the layout of the compatible 4M Series tractors.

One unusual fit detail is easy to see.

Cab 40376 Sits Six Inches Off Center

This cab is intentionally offset on the tractor.

Original Tractor Cab states that the enclosure sits about six inches off center. That design keeps the tractor's toolbox storage and control arms accessible.

The offset is part of the cab design, not an installation error.

Why the Offset Design Matters

Tool storage can be useful during field and property work.

Likewise, tractor controls must remain easy to reach. So, the offset design allows the cab to provide weather coverage without blocking those areas.

Follow the installation manual so the enclosure sits in the correct position.

No Holes to Drill for Normal Installation

Cab 40376 uses existing tractor mounting locations.

Therefore, normal installation does not require drilling new holes in the tractor. This helps simplify the mounting process and avoids unnecessary changes to the machine.

Use only the correct hardware and mounting points.

Plan About Three to Four Hours for Installation

Original Tractor Cab lists normal installation at roughly three to four hours.

Actual time can vary with tools and experience. So, give yourself enough time to read the instructions and assemble the cab with care.

Never rush an installation.

John Deere 4044M Rain Cab

Rain can turn a simple tractor job into a cold and wet task.

Cab 40376 places a roof, glass windshield, doors, and rear enclosure around the operator. Therefore, it helps reduce direct exposure to normal rain.

Wind-driven moisture can still enter through normal openings.

John Deere 4052M Snow Cab

Snow removal often happens while snow is still falling.

The hardtop and full enclosure help reduce direct contact with falling and blowing snow. In addition, the electric wiper helps keep the safety glass windshield clearer during wet snow.

Remove heavy buildup before driving.

John Deere 4066M Winter Cab

The 4066M brings strong compact tractor power to winter work.

Yet engine power does not shield the person in the seat from cold wind. Therefore, Cab 40376 adds useful weather cover around the operator station.

Dress for the actual outdoor temperature.

Added Protection From Normal Sleet

Sleet can strike from more than one direction.

The hardtop, windshield, doors, and rear enclosure help block much of that direct weather. However, Cab 40376 is not a sealed automotive-style cab.

Some moisture can enter through normal gaps.

Reduce Direct Cold Wind

Cold wind can make an open tractor hard to use for long periods.

Cab 40376 puts a physical barrier around much of the operator area. As a result, it can reduce direct airflow compared with an open-station 4044M, 4052M, or 4066M.

The enclosure itself does not make heat.

Useful for Loader Work

John Deere supports the 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M with front loader options.

For example, Deere lists the 400E loader for all three models. The loader gives these tractors useful material-handling ability while Cab 40376 adds operator weather cover.

Check full loader clearance after cab installation.

John Deere 400E Loader Compatibility

John Deere lists the 400E loader for the 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M.

The 400E has a listed lift capacity of 1,760 pounds and a lift height of 112 inches. Therefore, it can handle many property, farm, and material-moving jobs when used within Deere limits.

Use proper ballast for loader work.

Check Loader and Hydraulic Clearance

Loader arms, hoses, and controls move during use.

So, cycle the loader slowly after installing the cab. Check every hose, lever, arm, and attachment for contact with the enclosure.

Stop if anything touches.

Useful Cab for Snow Removal

A compact utility tractor can handle many winter jobs.

Compatible blades, loaders, and other snow equipment can clear drives and work areas. Meanwhile, Cab 40376 helps reduce direct exposure to snow, sleet, and cold wind.

That combination can extend the tractor's useful season.

Keep Every Tractor Control Clear

Safe tractor control must always come first.

Check the steering wheel, pedals, transmission controls, PTO controls, hydraulic controls, loader joystick, and three-point hitch controls. Then, correct any cab interference before normal use.

Every control must move freely.

Keep the Factory ROPS in Place

The John Deere rollover protective structure is part of the tractor's safety system.

Cab 40376 does not replace it. Therefore, never cut, drill, weld, weaken, or remove the factory ROPS simply to make the enclosure fit.

Follow all John Deere seat belt and ROPS instructions.

Cab 40376 Is Not a ROPS

The cab frame supports the weather enclosure.

However, it is not a certified rollover protective structure. Likewise, the hardtop, windshield, and doors do not turn this aftermarket enclosure into a certified safety cab.

Never rely on Cab 40376 for rollover protection.

Not a Falling-Object Protective Structure

The ABS hardtop gives useful overhead weather cover.

Still, it is not a certified falling-object protective structure. Therefore, Cab 40376 does not provide certified protection from falling limbs, rocks, tools, or other objects.

Use the correct safety equipment for hazardous work.

Not Certified for Hail or Flying Debris

Cab 40376 is a weather enclosure.

It does not provide certified hail, impact, or flying-debris protection. So, severe storms and thrown objects can exceed the purpose of the cab.

Move to safe shelter during dangerous weather.

Keep the Safety Glass Windshield Clear

A clean windshield supports safe tractor use.

Therefore, clear dirt, snow, frost, and ice before moving the tractor. Make sure the operator can see people, attachments, buildings, and other hazards.

Do not drive with a blocked view.

Care for the Clear Lexan Panels

Clear plastic needs gentle cleaning.

First, rinse away loose dirt when possible. Then, use clean water, mild soap, and a soft material on the Lexan areas.

Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough cloths.

Cab 40376 Is Not Airtight

This product is a practical weather enclosure.

It is not a sealed automotive cab. Therefore, cold air, dust, or moisture may enter through normal openings.

Its main job is to reduce direct weather exposure.

Cab 40376 Is Not Heated

The enclosure itself does not create heat.

Instead, it helps reduce direct wind and precipitation around the operator. As a result, winter work may feel more comfortable than it does on an open tractor.

Wear clothing that fits the conditions.

Use Safe Ventilation

A tractor enclosure cannot make engine exhaust safe.

Carbon monoxide can collect in garages, sheds, trailers, and other closed spaces. Therefore, never run the tractor in a closed area because a cab is installed.

Always provide safe ventilation.

Keep Cab Material Away From Hot Parts

Diesel exhaust components can become very hot.

So, keep enclosure material away from exhaust and other hot surfaces. Stop the tractor before adjusting any cab part near the engine.

Never work beside hot moving equipment.

Inspect Cab 40376 Before Work

A short inspection can find problems early.

Check the roof, windshield, wiper, doors, latches, rear enclosure, frame, mounts, and fasteners. Then, repair any loose or damaged part before operating the tractor.

Repeat the inspection during the season.

John Deere 4044M, 4052M & 4066M Tractor Specifications

John Deere builds the 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M as 4M Series Compact Utility Tractors.

All three use four-cylinder diesel engines. However, engine power rises from the 4044M through the 4066M.

That gives owners several power levels on a similar tractor platform.

John Deere 4044M Engine

The 4044M uses a Yanmar 4TNV88C-MJT diesel engine.

It is a naturally aspirated, liquid-cooled four-cylinder diesel. John Deere lists displacement at about 133 cubic inches, or 2.189 liters.

Rated engine speed is 2,600 rpm.

John Deere 4044M Horsepower

John Deere rates the current 4044M at about 43 engine horsepower.

Published 4M Series literature lists 43.1 horsepower. Therefore, the 4044M gives owners useful compact tractor power without moving to the larger engine ratings of the 4052M and 4066M.

PTO output depends on transmission choice.

John Deere 4044M PTO Power

John Deere literature lists about 34.6 PTO horsepower with the gear transmission.

The hydrostatic version is listed at about 33.6 PTO horsepower. So, owners should use the figure that matches their exact tractor.

Match PTO equipment to Deere limits.

John Deere 4052M Engine

The 4052M uses a Yanmar 4TNV86CT-MJT diesel.

This liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine is turbocharged. John Deere lists displacement at about 127.6 cubic inches, or 2.091 liters.

Rated engine speed is 2,600 rpm.

John Deere 4052M Horsepower

John Deere rates the 4052M at about 51.5 engine horsepower.

The turbocharged engine gives the 4052M more power than the 4044M. Therefore, it can support jobs that call for more engine and PTO output.

Use the correct implement size for the tractor.

John Deere 4052M PTO Power

Published Deere literature lists about 42.2 PTO horsepower for the gear transmission.

The hydrostatic model is listed at about 41.2 PTO horsepower. As a result, either version provides substantial PTO power for compatible equipment.

Always follow the current operator manual.

John Deere 4066M Engine

The 4066M uses the Yanmar 4TNV86CHT-MJT engine.

This four-cylinder diesel uses turbocharging and charge-air cooling. John Deere's current specifications list displacement at about 127 cubic inches.

Rated engine speed is 2,600 rpm.

John Deere 4066M Horsepower

The 4066M sits at the top of this three-model power range.

Current John Deere data lists about 65 engine horsepower. Earlier 4M Series literature lists 65.9 horsepower.

That makes the 4066M a strong compact utility tractor.

John Deere 4066M PTO Power

PTO output also rises with the 4066M.

John Deere literature lists about 58 PTO horsepower for the gear transmission and about 57 PTO horsepower for the hydrostatic version.

Use only properly sized PTO equipment.

Final Tier 4 Diesel Engines

The current 4M tractors meet Final Tier 4 emissions requirements.

John Deere uses high-pressure common-rail direct injection in the current engines. In addition, liquid cooling helps manage engine temperature during demanding work.

Follow Deere service requirements for the emissions system.

Four-Cylinder Engine Design

All three tractors use four-cylinder diesel power.

The 4044M is naturally aspirated. Meanwhile, the 4052M uses turbocharging, and the 4066M adds turbocharging with charge-air cooling.

That helps explain the different power ratings.

Transmission Choices

John Deere has offered transmission choices in the 4M family.

Published Deere data includes gear and hydrostatic configurations. Therefore, exact PTO output, operating method, and some specifications can vary with tractor setup.

Check the serial number and transmission before ordering service parts.

Four-Wheel Drive

The 4M Series uses mechanical front-wheel drive.

That adds traction for loader work, loose ground, snow, and uneven property. However, four-wheel drive does not replace safe speed, proper ballast, or careful operation.

Use the tractor within Deere limits.

Independent Rear PTO

John Deere equips the 4M Series with an independent rear PTO.

The standard rear PTO speed is 540 rpm. Therefore, owners can run many compatible mowers, cutters, tillers, and other PTO tools.

Keep guards in place during use.

13-Gallon Open-Station Fuel Tank

John Deere lists about 13 gallons of fuel capacity for open-operator-station 4M tractors.

That equals about 49.2 liters. As a result, the tractors have useful fuel capacity for long work periods.

Actual run time depends on load and engine speed.

400E Front Loader

The John Deere 400E loader fits the 4044M, 4052M, and 4066M.

John Deere lists lift capacity at 1,760 pounds. In addition, maximum lift height is listed at 112 inches.

The loader is parkable for easier removal.

Loader Work and Cab 40376

A front loader makes the 4M tractor useful for many material jobs.

Meanwhile, Cab 40376 helps give the operator weather cover during those jobs. Therefore, the combination can be useful during cold-weather feeding, material handling, property work, and snow removal.

Always use correct ballast.

4M Series Visibility

John Deere uses a sloped hood on the 4M Series.

The hood design helps improve the operator's forward view. Likewise, Cab 40376 uses a clear safety glass windshield so the operator can keep a useful view through the enclosure.

Clean all viewing areas before work.

Easy Service Access

John Deere designed the 4M Series with accessible service points.

The battery and other routine service areas are made easier to reach. Therefore, owners should keep those areas accessible when inspecting the tractor and cab.

Follow the Deere maintenance schedule.

4044M for Property and Farm Work

The 4044M gives owners about 43 horsepower in a compact tractor package.

That power can support loader jobs, mowing, grading, tilling, and many other tasks. So, Cab 40376 can help extend open-station 4044M use into colder and wetter weather.

Choose attachments that fit the tractor.

4052M for Higher-Power Jobs

The 4052M raises engine output to about 51.5 horsepower.

Its turbocharged diesel can support more demanding work than the lower-powered model. Meanwhile, the same Cab 40376 gives the operator model-fit weather cover.

Check tractor configuration before ordering.

4066M for the Most Power in This Cab Group

The 4066M brings about 65 engine horsepower to this three-model group.

That makes it useful for owners who need strong compact tractor performance. However, greater power still requires careful operation and properly matched equipment.

Cab 40376 protects only from normal elements.

The History of Original Tractor Cab Company

Original Tractor Cab began in 1939.

The story started with Indiana farmer Stanley Williams. He saw a simple problem while working on his farm.

Tractor operators needed better protection from the weather.

Stanley Williams Builds a Solution

Stanley knew what it was like to work outside.

Rain, snow, cold, wind, and sun came with the job. So, he designed a cab for his own tractor.

That first prototype started something much larger.

Other Farmers See the Value

Stanley's idea solved a problem shared by many farmers.

Other tractor operators wanted similar weather protection. Therefore, demand began to grow beyond his own farm.

A practical idea became a business.

A Farm Magazine Ad Helps the Business Grow

Stanley placed a small advertisement in a farm magazine.

The strong response showed that farmers across a wider area shared the same need. As a result, Original Tractor Cab began making products for more tractor owners.

Real farm work shaped the early products.

Original Tractor Cab During World War II

World War II changed the young company's work.

Normal cab production stopped as manufacturing shifted to support the war effort. The company made backpacks and other needed military goods during that period.

Afterward, tractor products returned.

Outdoor Equipment Keeps Changing

Farm and property equipment changed after the war.

Tractors grew more advanced. Lawn equipment became more common, and snow machines created new markets.

So, Original Tractor Cab developed products for more types of equipment.

Snow Equipment Becomes Part of the Story

Snowblowers put operators directly in blowing snow.

That created another clear need for weather protection. Therefore, Original Tractor Cab expanded its product line to help people who worked with snow equipment.

The same basic idea still applied.

Lawn and Garden Products Follow

Smaller outdoor machines became common around homes and properties.

Original Tractor Cab responded with cabs and related products for lawn and garden equipment. As a result, the company moved well beyond traditional farm tractor cabs.

More equipment owners could gain weather cover.

Sunshades Add Warm-Weather Comfort

Winter weather was not the only challenge.

Direct summer sun can also make outdoor work hard. So, Original Tractor Cab added sunshades for tractors, mowers, and other machines.

The company could now help through more seasons.

Three Generations of the Williams Family

The Williams family carried Original Tractor Cab forward through three generations.

Each generation worked with different equipment and changing customer needs. Yet the basic purpose stayed the same.

Make practical products for people who work outside.

Made in the USA Since 1939

Original Tractor Cab remains an American manufacturer.

Today, the company makes hardtop tractor cabs, soft weather enclosures, sunshades, mower products, snow equipment cabs, and related accessories.

Cab 40376 continues that manufacturing tradition.

Original Tractor Cab in Arlington, Indiana

Original Tractor Cab is based in Arlington, Indiana.

More than eight decades have passed since Stanley Williams built his first cab. However, outdoor equipment operators still face many of the same weather problems.

That keeps the original idea useful.

From a 1939 Farm Tractor to the John Deere 4M Series

Modern John Deere 4M tractors are far more advanced than farm tractors from 1939.

Yet an open operator station still leaves the driver exposed to rain, snow, sleet, wind, and cold. Therefore, Cab 40376 carries the original weather-protection idea into a modern compact utility tractor.

The machine changed, but the need remained.

Dealer Sales Helped Original Tractor Cab Grow

Equipment dealers have helped Original Tractor Cab reach customers for many years.

Dealers connected tractor owners with model-fit cabs, enclosures, sunshades, and accessories. Meanwhile, that network helped Original Tractor Cab serve many brands and machine types.

Dealer support remains an important part of the business.

OriginalCab.com Brings the Manufacturer Direct to the Customer

The way people shop for equipment has changed.

Today, OriginalCab.com lets owners shop directly from Original Tractor Cab. Therefore, customers can find a product by tractor model and reach the company behind the cab when they need help.

Direct sales add another choice for equipment owners.

More Than Eight Decades of Weather Protection

Equipment will continue to change.

However, rain will still fall, snow will still blow, and cold wind will still reach an open tractor. So, Original Tractor Cab continues to build practical products for people who need to work outside.

That idea has lasted since 1939.
