Kubota BX50, BX60 & BX70 Hardtop Cab 11970

Keep working when the weather turns cold and wet with Original Tractor Cab 11970. This model-fit hardtop cab is made for compatible Kubota BX50, BX60, BX70, and BX70-1 Series compact tractors.

Rain, snow, sleet, and cold wind can make an open tractor hard to use. Therefore, Cab 11970 adds useful weather cover around the operator while keeping the compact size and work value of your Kubota BX.

A molded ABS hardtop gives firm cover from above. Meanwhile, clear shatter-resistant Lexan panels help you see the tractor, attachment, and work area.

Original Tractor Cab makes Cab 11970 in the USA.

Kubota BX50 BX60 BX70 Hardtop Cab for Year-Round Work

Kubota BX tractors can work through every season.

Owners use them to mow, move dirt, haul material, landscape, grade, clear snow, and care for property. Yet an open operator station gives little cover when the weather changes.

Cab 11970 helps solve that problem.

Model-Fit Cab for Compatible Kubota BX Tractors

Original Tractor Cab designed Cab 11970 around compatible Kubota BX50, BX60, BX70, and BX70-1 Series tractors.

That model-fit design lets the cab follow the operator area instead of acting like a loose universal cover. As a result, the hardtop, frame, doors, and enclosure work together as one system.

Always check your exact model and tractor setup before ordering.

Important Kubota BX25 Fit Information

Original Tractor Cab also lists Cab 11970 for compatible BX25 tractors from 2015 and newer.

However, the company states that Cab 11970 is not compatible with the BX25D backhoe. Therefore, BX25 owners should confirm the exact machine and backhoe setup before purchase.

Do not order by the BX name alone.

Check Your ROPS Style Before Ordering

The Cab 11970 installation guide covers more than one Kubota BX ROPS layout.

It identifies BX50 and BX60 Series ROPS as well as BX70 and BX70-1 Series ROPS. So, inspect your tractor before installation and follow the instructions for its exact ROPS design.

Never alter the factory ROPS to make the cab fit.

Fully Enclosed Cab With ABS Hardtop

Cab 11970 uses a fully enclosed weather design.

A molded ABS hard plastic top covers the operator from above. Meanwhile, the surrounding enclosure helps reduce direct exposure to normal rain, snow, sleet, and wind.

The cab is made for weather protection.

Hard Roof for Overhead Cover

A hardtop gives the cab a firm roof.

Therefore, normal rain and snow do not fall straight onto the operator. The roof can also provide useful shade during bright outdoor work.

Still, the ABS top is not a certified falling-object guard.

Clear Shatter-Resistant Lexan Panels

Visibility matters on a compact tractor.

Original Tractor Cab uses clear shatter-resistant Lexan plastic in the windshield, side doors, and rear curtain of Cab 11970. As a result, the operator gets enclosure coverage while keeping useful outward views.

Keep each clear area clean before work.

Clear Lexan Windshield

The standard windshield uses clear Lexan.

Its forward angle helps reduce glare. In addition, Original Tractor Cab states that the forward inclination helps reduce contact with falling rain and snow.

That design supports better visibility in changing weather.

Optional Safety Glass Windshield

Owners can replace the standard Lexan windshield with an optional safety glass windshield.

That upgrade also matters when adding an electric windshield wiper. Original Tractor Cab states that the electric wiper upgrade requires the safety glass windshield.

Do not run a wiper on the standard Lexan windshield.

Optional Electric Windshield Wiper

A wiper can help during wet weather.

However, it must be paired with the optional safety glass windshield. Therefore, plan both parts together when adding the wiper option.

Check current accessory compatibility before ordering.

Hinged Doors for Easy Entry

Cab 11970 uses hinged doors with latches.

That makes getting into and out of the operator area quick and simple. Meanwhile, the doors help complete the weather enclosure during normal tractor use.

Check each latch before starting work.

Check Door Clearance

Attachments and stored equipment can affect the space around a tractor.

So, open each cab door fully after installation. Make sure the door does not strike a loader part, wall, trailer, tool, or other object.

Keep the entry path clear.

No Holes to Drill for Normal Installation

Cab 11970 uses existing tractor mounting points.

Original Tractor Cab states that no holes need to be drilled for normal installation. Therefore, owners can add the cab without drilling new mounting holes into the tractor for the standard setup.

Follow the current manual closely.

About Three to Four Hours to Install

Original Tractor Cab estimates installation at about three to four hours.

Actual time can change with tools, experience, tractor setup, and accessories. So, allow enough time to work slowly and follow the instructions.

Never rush cab installation.

About 45 Minutes for Seasonal Removal

Some owners may want the enclosure off during warmer weather.

Original Tractor Cab estimates cab removal at about 45 minutes. As a result, Cab 11970 can serve as seasonal weather protection without becoming a permanent factory cab.

Store removed parts in a clean and dry area.

Protect Cab Panels During Storage

Clear panels need care while the cab is off the tractor.

Therefore, keep them away from sharp objects and heavy pressure. Avoid hard folds that may mark or damage clear flexible material.

Clean the panels before long-term storage.

Kubota BX Rain Protection

Rain can turn a simple tractor job into a wet one.

Cab 11970 helps reduce direct exposure around the operator. The hard roof blocks weather from above, while the windshield, doors, and rear enclosure add more cover.

Still, the cab is not a sealed waterproof room.

Kubota BX Snow Cab

Compact tractors can stay very busy in winter.

A loader, blade, or compatible snow tool can put the Kubota BX to work while snow is still falling. Therefore, Cab 11970 helps reduce direct exposure to normal falling and blowing snow.

That can make winter work more pleasant.

Added Cover From Sleet

Sleet can strike the operator from several directions.

The enclosure helps block much of that direct winter weather. However, strong wind can move moisture through normal seams and openings.

Cab 11970 is not airtight.

Reduce Direct Cold Wind

Wind can make a cold day feel much worse.

The cab creates a barrier around much of the operator station. So, the driver gets more wind cover than the open tractor provides.

Wear clothing suited to the actual temperature.

Useful for Kubota BX Snow Removal

Snow removal can mean long periods outside.

Owners may use a loader, front blade, rear blade, snowblower, or another compatible tool. Meanwhile, Cab 11970 helps shield the operator from normal winter weather.

Check all attachment clearances before work.

Keep Every Tractor Control Clear

Safe control movement comes first.

Therefore, check the steering wheel, hydrostatic pedals, brakes, PTO controls, hydraulic controls, three-point controls, and loader controls after cab installation.

Stop using the cab if any part causes interference.

Keep the Factory ROPS in Place

The Kubota ROPS is safety equipment.

Cab 11970 does not replace it. Therefore, never cut, drill, weld, bend, weaken, or remove the factory ROPS simply to install the enclosure.

Use the seat belt as Kubota directs.

Cab 11970 Is Not a ROPS

The cab has a frame that supports the enclosure.

However, that frame is not a certified rollover protective structure. Likewise, the hardtop does not turn the tractor into a certified protective cab.

Never depend on Cab 11970 for rollover protection.

Not a Falling-Object Protective Structure

The ABS roof gives useful weather cover.

Still, it is not a certified FOPS. Therefore, the cab does not provide certified protection from branches, rocks, tools, or other falling objects.

Use job-specific safety equipment when needed.

Not Certified for Hail or Flying Debris

Cab 11970 is made to protect from normal elements.

It is not a certified hail, impact, or flying-debris shield. So, dangerous storms and thrown objects can exceed the purpose of the enclosure.

Move to safe shelter when conditions become severe.

Remove Vinyl Panels Before Open Transport

Open-trailer transport creates very high wind loads.

Original Tractor Cab warns owners to remove the vinyl panels before transporting the tractor on an open truck or trailer. Therefore, never expose installed enclosure panels to highway airflow.

Secure all removed cab parts before travel.

Inspect Cab Hardware Often

Tractor work creates vibration.

As a result, mounting hardware can need attention. Check the cab frame, brackets, bolts, latches, and other mounting points during the season.

Tighten loose parts before the next job.

Care for Clear Cab Panels

Clear enclosure material can scratch.

First, rinse loose dirt away when possible. Then, use clean water, mild soap, and a soft material for normal cleaning.

Avoid rubbing heavy dry dirt across a clear panel.

Keep Your View Clear

Snow, dirt, frost, and moisture can reduce visibility.

Therefore, inspect every viewing area before moving the tractor. Clean any area that blocks your view of the machine, attachment, people, or work area.

Good visibility is part of safe operation.

Keep Cab Material Away From Heat

Engine and exhaust parts become hot during use.

So, make sure no enclosure material can touch the exhaust or another hot part. Check the cab again if a panel or strap shifts.

Stop the engine before making an adjustment.

Use Safe Ventilation

A tractor cab does not protect from exhaust.

Carbon monoxide can collect in a garage, shed, trailer, or other enclosed space. Therefore, never operate the tractor in a closed area because Cab 11970 is installed.

Use the tractor only with proper ventilation.

Cab 11970 Is Not a Heated Factory Cab

The enclosure does not create heat.

Instead, it helps reduce direct wind and precipitation around the operator. As a result, cold-weather work may feel more comfortable than it does on an open tractor.

Dress for outdoor conditions.

Use Your Kubota BX Through More Seasons

Poor weather does not happen only in winter.

Spring can bring cold rain. Likewise, fall may bring wind, sleet, and early snow.

Cab 11970 adds useful weather cover through more of the year.

Kubota BX50 BX60 BX70 Tractor Specifications

Cab 11970 covers several generations of Kubota BX tractors.

Therefore, one set of specifications does not describe every compatible machine. Engine power, ROPS design, dimensions, weight, and attachments can change by model and year.

Always use the Kubota manual for your exact tractor.

Kubota BX50 Series

The BX50 generation came before the BX60 Series.

Common models in this generation include tractors such as the BX1850 and BX2350. The BX24 also belongs to the related tractor-loader-backhoe era.

Exact cab fit should always be checked before purchase.

Kubota BX60 Series

The BX60 generation includes models such as the BX1860, BX2360, and BX2660.

Kubota built these small diesel tractors for mowing, loader work, landscaping, snow removal, and property care. Meanwhile, their compact dimensions helped them work where a larger tractor could be less convenient.

The BX25 served as the related tractor-loader-backhoe model.

Kubota BX70 Series

The next generation included the BX1870, BX2370, and BX2670.

Later BX70-1 versions followed. Therefore, Cab 11970 instructions identify both BX70 and BX70-1 ROPS configurations.

Check your exact model before assembly.

Kubota BX1860 Engine Power

The BX1860 uses a three-cylinder Kubota diesel engine.

Published specifications rate gross engine output at 18 horsepower. PTO output is about 13.7 horsepower.

That power suits many light property jobs and compatible implements.

Kubota BX2360 Engine Power

The BX2360 moves up in power.

Published specifications rate gross engine output at 23 horsepower. PTO output is about 17.7 horsepower.

Its diesel engine and compact frame support many property-care tasks.

Kubota BX2660 Engine Power

The BX2660 sits at the upper end of the common BX60 tractor range.

Published data lists 25.5 gross engine horsepower and about 19.5 PTO horsepower. Therefore, it offers more power while keeping the small BX footprint.

Match every implement to the tractor rating.

Kubota BX25 Engine Power

The BX25 uses a liquid-cooled three-cylinder Kubota D902 diesel.

Published specifications list 23 gross horsepower and about 17.7 PTO horsepower. Engine displacement is about 54.8 cubic inches, or 0.9 liter.

Cab fit still depends on the exact BX25 configuration.

Kubota BX1870 Power

The BX1870 and later BX1870-1 use a small three-cylinder Kubota diesel.

Published data lists 18 gross horsepower and about 13.7 PTO horsepower. Therefore, the model stays close to the power class of the earlier BX1860.

Use model-specific service information.

Kubota BX2370 Power

The BX2370 is a 23-horsepower-class BX tractor.

Published specifications list about 17.7 PTO horsepower. As a result, it offers useful compact tractor power for compatible mowing, loader, and PTO work.

Follow Kubota implement limits.

Kubota BX2670 Power

The BX2670 uses a three-cylinder Kubota diesel.

Published specifications list 25.5 gross horsepower and about 19.5 PTO horsepower. The later BX2670-1 keeps the same basic published power ratings.

Actual equipment can vary by year.

Hydrostatic Transmission

These Kubota BX tractors use hydrostatic travel.

That design makes forward and reverse speed changes simple during loader work, mowing, and snow removal. Therefore, the BX platform works well for jobs with many speed changes.

Select a safe range and speed.

Four-Wheel Drive

Four-wheel drive is a key part of these BX tractor generations.

Extra traction can help during snow removal, loader work, mowing, and property care. However, four-wheel drive cannot prevent a rollover on unsafe terrain.

Follow Kubota's slope and ballast rules.

Power Steering

BX tractors use power steering to reduce steering effort.

That feature can help during loader work and jobs with many turns. As a result, the compact tractor remains easy to guide during many daily tasks.

Always keep full control of the machine.

Rear and Mid PTO

Many BX50, BX60, and BX70 tractors provide rear and mid PTO capability.

Common published specifications include a 540-rpm rear PTO and a 2,500-rpm mid PTO. Therefore, compatible tractors can run rear implements as well as mid-mount equipment.

Check the exact model before selecting an implement.

Category I Three-Point Hitch

Many tractor models in these BX generations use a Category I rear three-point hitch.

For example, the BX2660 lists about 1,210 pounds of lift at the hitch ends and about 670 pounds at 24 inches behind the lift point. Yet ratings can differ by model.

Use the correct capacity for your tractor.

BX60 Series Fuel Capacity

Published BX60 data commonly lists a 6.6-gallon fuel tank.

That includes models such as the BX1860, BX2360, and BX2660. Still, owners should use the manual for the exact tractor when checking service capacities.

Refuel only with the engine safely shut down.

Kubota BX1860 Size and Weight

The BX1860 has a published wheelbase of about 52.9 inches.

Base tractor weight is about 1,255 pounds. Therefore, the BX1860 remains a small and light compact tractor before a loader, mower, cab, ballast, or other equipment is added.

Use full equipped weight for transport.

Kubota BX2360 Size and Weight

The BX2360 uses a wheelbase of about 55.1 inches.

Published base tractor weight is about 1,322 pounds. As a result, it remains compact while adding more power than the BX1860.

Attachments add to total weight.

Kubota BX2660 Size and Weight

The BX2660 also uses a wheelbase of about 55.1 inches.

Published tractor weight is about 1,389 pounds. Common dimensions place overall length near 95.5 inches and width near 44.5 inches before some attachments.

Cab 11970 changes the final outside dimensions.

Kubota BX2670 Size and Weight

The BX2670 has a published wheelbase of about 55.1 inches.

Published tractor weight is about 1,466 pounds. Therefore, trailer and storage planning should include the added weight and size of the cab, loader, mower, ballast, and other equipment.

Measure the finished tractor.

Front Loader Capability

Kubota offered front loaders across these BX generations.

Loader model and capacity vary with the exact tractor. So, never use one BX model's loader rating for a different machine.

Check the Kubota loader manual for your tractor.

Mid-Mount Mower Options

Mowing has long been an important BX use.

Depending on the model, Kubota offered mid-mount mower decks in several widths. For example, published BX60 information lists 48-inch, 54-inch, and 60-inch choices across parts of the range.

Deck fit varies by tractor.

Why Exact BX Model Identification Matters

The words BX50, BX60, and BX70 describe several tractor families.

However, those families contain different engines, dimensions, ROPS designs, weights, and attachment options. Therefore, identify the complete model number before ordering parts or using specification data.

The tractor serial number can also help confirm the production version.

The History of Original Tractor Cab Company

Original Tractor Cab began in 1939.

Indiana farmer Stanley Williams wanted better weather cover while using his own tractor. So, he designed a cab for his machine.

That practical idea became the start of the company.

Born From a Need on the Farm

Farm work often had to continue in poor weather.

Rain, wind, snow, cold, and sun could all make an open tractor hard to use. Therefore, Stanley's cab solved a problem that many other farmers knew well.

Other operators soon noticed his design.

A Small Farm Ad Helps Start a Company

Stanley placed a small advertisement in a farm magazine.

The response showed that farmers in other places wanted the same kind of weather protection. As a result, one cab made for personal use grew into a manufacturing business.

Original Tractor Cab began serving major tractor brands of the day.

Original Tractor Cab During World War II

World War II changed the young company's work.

During the war, Original Tractor Cab used its manufacturing skills to make canvas items for the war effort. Afterward, the company returned its focus to outdoor equipment.

Tractor cab production moved forward again.

Robert Williams Expands the Product Line

The next generation brought new ideas.

During the 1960s, Stanley's son Robert designed and patented a cab for walk-behind snowblowers. Therefore, the company's weather protection moved beyond farm tractors.

Lawn and garden tractor products followed.

Snowblower Cabs Meet a Clear Need

A snowblower operator works directly in winter weather.

Blowing snow and cold wind can make the job hard. So, a snowblower cab was a natural extension of the company's original weather-protection idea.

That product helped the business reach new customers.

Lawn and Garden Tractor Cabs Follow

Outdoor power equipment kept changing.

Lawn and garden tractors became common around homes and businesses. As a result, Original Tractor Cab developed more products for smaller machines.

The company's market continued to grow.

Wayne Williams Adds Sun Protection

The third generation added another major product idea.

In the early 1990s, Stanley's grandson Wayne designed and patented a sunshade for tractors and lawn and garden equipment. Therefore, Original Tractor Cab could help operators in hot sunny weather as well as winter.

Sunshades became an important part of the line.

Three Generations of the Williams Family

The Williams family carried Original Tractor Cab forward through three generations.

Stanley began with tractor weather protection. Robert expanded the idea into snow equipment and lawn products, while Wayne helped add sunshades.

Each generation responded to new outdoor equipment needs.

From Early Farm Tractors to Kubota BX Tractors

Modern Kubota BX tractors are very different from Stanley Williams' first machine.

Yet operators still face rain, snow, sleet, wind, cold, and sun. Therefore, the basic need for useful weather protection remains.

Cab 11970 carries that idea to compatible Kubota BX owners.

Made in the USA Since 1939

Original Tractor Cab remains based in Arlington, Indiana.

Today, the company makes hardtop cabs, weather enclosures, sunshades, snowblower cabs, mower products, utility vehicle enclosures, and related accessories.

American manufacturing remains a central part of the company story.

More Than Eight Decades of Weather Protection

Outdoor equipment has changed greatly since 1939.

However, weather has not. So, Original Tractor Cab continues to make products that help people use tractors, mowers, snow equipment, and other machines through changing conditions.

Cab 11970 is part of that long history.
