Massey Ferguson 1800E Series Hardtop Cab 40474

Work in more comfort with the Massey Ferguson 1800E Hardtop Cab 40474. This cab helps guard you from cold wind, rain, snow, and sleet. As a result, rough weather does not have to end your workday.

Cab 40474 fits the Massey Ferguson 1825E, 1835E, and 1840E compact tractors. It also adds a glass front window and an electric wiper. Thus, you get clear views when rain or wet snow reaches the cab.

All-Weather Comfort for the Massey Ferguson 1800E

Cold air can make a short job feel long. Wet snow can also soak an open tractor seat. However, this hardtop cab places a full cover around the operator area.

The roof helps block rain, sleet, and falling snow. Meanwhile, the clear cab panels support a wide view. You can see the tractor, tools, and work area from the seat.

This cab does not add heat on its own. Still, the enclosure helps hold back cold wind. That change can make snow work and winter chores feel less harsh.

Glass Windshield and Electric Wiper

Cab 40474 comes with a glass windshield. In addition, an electric wiper helps clear water and wet snow from the front view. Both parts add value during long jobs in poor weather.

Glass also gives a firm front panel for the cab. Yet, you must keep it clean and check it for chips or cracks. Replace damaged glass before you use the tractor again.

Made for Three 1800E Models

The cab fits the Massey Ferguson 1825E, 1835E, and 1840E. Even so, model names may not prove full fit. Tractor changes, added parts, or prior repairs can affect the mount area.

Before you order, check the full tractor model and serial number. Then, share those facts with the Original Tractor Cab support team if you need fit help.

No-Drill Cab Mounting

Cab 40474 uses points on the tractor for its mounts. Therefore, normal setup does not call for holes in the tractor body. Always follow the guide and use all supplied parts.

The cab works with the tractor’s folding ROPS design. However, the cab does not replace the ROPS. Keep the ROPS and seat belt in the safe mode set by the tractor maker.

Review the Original Tractor Cab installation manuals before work starts. Proper setup helps keep each mount, seal, and panel in the right place.

Check the Added Cab Height

The installed cab stands about 86 inches high. So, measure your shed, garage, trailer, trees, and other low areas first. Extra height can change where the tractor will fit.

Cab height may also vary with tire type and tire pressure. Likewise, uneven ground can cut the space above the roof. Move with care near any low object.

Massey Ferguson 1800E Tractor Specifications

The Massey Ferguson 1800E line includes compact farm tractors. These units serve farms, large yards, and work sites. Also, the series supports loaders and many rear tools.

All three listed models use a three-cylinder diesel engine. Yet, power and engine size vary by model. The 1825E makes 24 horsepower, while the 1835E and 1840E make more power.

Four-wheel drive helps these tractors work on loose soil and rough ground. In addition, power steering can ease tight turns. A rear differential lock can aid traction when a wheel starts to slip.

Owners could choose an 8-by-8 shuttle transmission or a three-range hydrostatic drive on listed builds. However, options can vary by year and region. Check the tractor tag and manual for exact facts.

Massey Ferguson 1825E Specifications

The 1825E uses a 1.49-liter Iseki diesel engine. Its rated output is 24 horsepower. Likewise, PTO power is about 20.4 horsepower with the gear drive or 19.2 horsepower with hydrostatic drive.

The rear hitch can lift about 1,598 pounds at 24 inches behind the hitch points. Also, a 10-gallon fuel tank supports long work periods. Base tractor weight is about 2,668 pounds.

Massey Ferguson 1835E Specifications

The 1835E uses a 1.83-liter, liquid-cooled Iseki diesel engine. Rated engine power is 34.5 horsepower. In contrast, listed PTO output is about 29.2 horsepower with gear drive or 27.6 horsepower with hydrostatic drive.

The tractor uses a Category I three-point hitch. Moreover, its rear lift rating is about 1,598 pounds at 24 inches behind the hitch points. Base weight is close to 2,954 pounds.

Massey Ferguson 1840E Specifications

The 1840E uses the same 1.83-liter engine size. However, it makes 39.4 engine horsepower. PTO output reaches about 33.5 horsepower with gear drive or 31.5 horsepower with hydrostatic drive.

Confirm Your Tractor Data

Equipment data can change by year, market, tire, and transmission. Thus, the tractor plate and matching manual give the best facts for your unit.

Review the official Massey Ferguson 1800E Series page for engine and model details. You can also compare rated power and lift data on the official Massey Ferguson E Series specifications page.

Always follow the Massey Ferguson manual for safe use and service. Furthermore, obey all limits for slopes, loads, tires, tools, and the folding ROPS.

The History of Original Tractor Cab

Original Tractor Cab began in 1939. At that time, Indiana farmer Stanley Williams needed shelter while he used his tractor. So, he made the first cab for his own farm work.

Other farmers soon asked for cabs of their own. Then, Stanley placed a small ad in a farm magazine. Strong demand helped his simple idea grow into a family business.

War Work and a New Start

World War II changed the company’s work for a time. The team stopped normal cab output and made packs and other goods for the military. Later, the firm returned to equipment covers and farm needs.

Three Generations in Indiana

The Williams family kept the company strong for three generations. Over time, the product line grew far beyond the first farm cab. It now covers hardtop cabs, soft enclosures, sunshades, and useful add-ons.

Original Tractor Cab still works in Arlington, Indiana. Above all, the company keeps one clear goal: help people work outside in more comfort. Learn more on the Original Tractor Cab history page.
